School in the Woods at Camp Tanuga - 3 Days. 2 Nights. A Lifetime of Impact.

Since 1952, Camp Tanuga has been a place where kids grow through experience. Our “School in the Woods” program is designed for school groups seeking meaningful, adventure-based learning in a screen-free, natural environment.
Students stay in traditional camp cabins with 10–15 classmates and 2–3 trained counselors, building community and independence while immersed in the outdoors. Over the course of three days and two nights, students participate in classic Camp Tanuga activities such as:
Canoeing & Kayaking
Rock Wall Climbing
Archery
Waterfront Activities
Swimming/Boating/Tubing
Nature Hikes
Campfires
Team-building Challenges
Field Games & Sports
Arts & Crafts
Outdoor Education Workshops
And much more…
These hands-on experiences aren’t just fun—they teach cooperation, communication, leadership, and resilience. With a focus on social-emotional learning, students discover new sides of themselves and one another, building bonds that strengthen their school communities back home.
Just getting students into a new setting—away from screens, inside nature, and surrounded by their peers—creates a profound shift. Our team partners with teachers and administrators to design experiences that align with your goals, whether they’re centered on team-building, character development, outdoor education, or simply giving students a chance to connect and explore.
At Camp Tanuga, we’re in the business of helping kids discover what they’re capable of. Let’s give your students an unforgettable learning adventure.
